The uniform has been updated for current Year 7 & 8 and the later years are wearing the legacy school uniform.
The school operates a formal uniform policy, revised and drawn up in consultation with parents, pupils, staff and governors. We believe good uniform standards are important because;
- uniform helps to avoid distinctions based on wealth and social background
- uniform helps to develop a sense of community and shared responsibility
- uniform/appropriate dress is part of working life generally
- uniform helps to instil a sense of pride in appearance.
We work hard to maintain high standards in implementing our uniform policy and hope that we can rely on parents to support us in our efforts. Certain items of uniform must be purchased from our nominated stockist.
Banned items, which are not allowed to be worn in school or travelling to or from the school site:
- Any footwear which are not plain, black, flat smart shoes – this includes, but is not limited to, trainers, canvas pumps, boots, non-flat heeled shoes, platform/flatform shoes, wedge shoes, sling-backs, sandals or other unsuitable footwear.
- “Hoodie”-style jumpers or outwear, including the PE hoodie outside of PE lessons – in cold weather, we recommend students wear a coat outdoors and/or a school jumper underneath their blazer.
- Smartwatches or Fitbits – a plain wristwatch may be worn.
- Nose studs – should students have a healing nose piercing, they will be required to wear a clear ‘sleeper’.
- Any form of jewellery other than a single stud in each ear – this includes, but is not limited to, any necklaces, rings, bracelets, wristbands, additional ear-studs, non-stud (‘dangly’) earrings, facial piercings, ear-stretchers or other jewellery.
- False fingernails including nail extensions/acrylic nails.
- Nail polish of any kind, including non-removable nail polish (e.g. ‘gelish’/’shellac’ or similar).
- False eyelashes, eyelash extensions or hair extensions.
- Airpods, ear-buds or other headphones.
Rules and Regulations for students’ appearance on the school site and when travelling to/from school:
1. Shirts must be worn with all buttons done up and fully tucked in at the waistband of the student’s skirt/trousers.
2. If students choose to wear cosmetics, any make up must be subtle, discreet and natural-looking (i.e. matching the natural colour of their eyelashes, skin or lips). Students will be required to remove anything deemed unsuitable by staff for the professional learning environment of the school.
3. Students’ hair must be a natural colour; if a student chooses to dye their hair, it must be dyed a colour which could plausibly be their natural hair colour.
4. Student may not shave their heads or eyebrows, and there must be no tramlines or other designs shaved into students’ hair. Any other forms of ‘extreme’ hair-styles will not be accepted.
5. Coats may not be worn inside in classrooms, in the school corridors or in the canteens; students are required to remove their coats upon entering the school buildings.
6. Students may not wear their PE hoodie, or any other part of their PE kit, at any time other than during a PE lesson, sports fixture or other timetabled sporting activity.
Rules and Regulations for students’ appearance during PE lessons and other sporting activities at school:
- For health and safety reasons, long hair must be tied back in PE lessons.
- Any and all jewellery, including stud earrings, must removed for PE lessons. It would therefore be advisable for ear piercings to be done at the beginning of the 6 week holidays.
- As with the main school uniform, all items of PE kit must be clearly named. If any items are lost, students should inform the Student Office immediately.

New Uniform (Year 7 & 8)
Compulsory items of school uniform:
- Black school blazer with embroidered school badge. This is only available from our named suppliers. The ‘standard fit’ blazer is available to all students, while girls may choose to wear either the ‘standard fit’ or the more tailored option.
- White shirt with a standard fit and traditional collar.
- Clip-on school tie, in the correct colour-way to match the student’s house (Cliff is Red; Doulton is Yellow ; Minton is Green; Spode is White; Wedgwood is Blue). Ties are available to purchase from our named suppliers or can be purchased through the school ParentPay system.
- Plain, dark charcoal grey, deep-waisted pleated knee-length skirt or plain, dark charcoal grey, full-length smart school trousers (both of these items are available from our named suppliers, but identical alternatives purchased from other sources are permitted).
- (If a skirt is worn) plain black tights (minimum 40 denier in Autumn/Spring Terms and minimum 20 denier in Summer Term) or (If trousers are worn) plain black, white or grey socks.
- Plain black, flat smart shoes (lace-up shoes must have plain black laces).
Optional, accepted clothing items which may be worn at school:
- Black v-neck pullover jumper with embroidered school badge (available only from our named suppliers) or a plain, black v-neck pullover school jumper.
- One stud earring per ear (studs should be small enough that they do not extend beyond the ear).
- Plain wristwatch (non-smart watch).
- A coat or jacket with a zip/buttons running its full length (to be worn outdoors only).
PE Uniform Overview:
The main items in our PE kit feature the Endon High School PE logo and are available from our named suppliers; black shorts, black skort, or black leggings or black tracksuit bottoms, black socks, trainers, shin pads and black tracksuit bottoms can be purchased from any retailer.
Compulsory items:
- Polo shirt with EHS PE logo – no other t-shirt or top will be permitted
- Black shorts, skort, or leggings or black tracksuit bottoms.
- Black sports socks
- Trainers (not canvas pumps)
- Shin pads
Optional Item:
- EHS branded Black shorts, skort, or leggings or black tracksuit bottoms are available from the uniform suppliers. (see suppliers page.)
- EHS PE logo Hoodie or zip ¼ top with EHS PE logo – no other jumper, hoodie or pullover will be permitted
- Rain jacket with EHS logo (the is the only jacket that will be permitted in PE lessons)
Legacy School Uniform (Year 9 to 11)
BOYS
- Black school blazer with embroidered school badge available from the named stockist only.
- Black School Trousers
- White shirt and school tie. Clip-on ties are compulsory in all years, unless they are a buddy or a prefect. Ties are available from school or our suppliers.
- Black V-neck school pullover with embroidered badge available from the named stockist only.
- Plain black shoes with black laces where required (not boots, trainers or canvas pumps and no coloured logos).
- Plain black, white or grey socks.
GIRLS
- Black school blazer with embroidered badge available from the named stockist only. Please note stockist have an option of a more tailored girls’ blazer.
- Black school skirt with EHS embroidered on the waistband, available from the named stockist only. Skirts must be knee length.
- Black school trousers with EHS embroidered on the waistband, available from the named stockist only.
- White traditional collar school shirt (no rever collars) and school tie. Clip-on ties are compulsory in all years unless they are a buddy or a prefect. Ties available from school or Motif Marketing.
